The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department will mark the ten-year anniversary of the Public Safety Occupational Health Center (PSOHC), Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at 2 p.m., A-level Conference Center, Massey Building, 4100 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax. Chairman Gerald E. Connolly, Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, will provide remarks.

Dr. Donald Stewart, Director of the PSOHC, will be presented with a plaque commemorating the ten-year anniversary. An open house and tour of the Public Safety Occupational Health Center will immediately follow the program.

The PSOHC started in May of 1997, as a Fire Service Joint Labor Management Wellness-Fitness initiative focusing on the health and well-being of firefighters. The PSOHC now includes all uniformed employees in public safety within Fairfax County. Also included are: the City of Fairfax Fire Department, the City of Fairfax Police Department, Vienna Police Department, and the Herndon Police Department. Over 4,500 uniformed public safety employees are now enrolled in the program.
