Fire Inspections Branch
The Fire Inspections Branch is responsible for a variety of inspection services relating to enforcement of the Fire Prevention Code and the fire lane and fire department access requirements of the Fairfax County Public Facilities Manual (PFM). The branch is comprised of two primary functional units: Operations and Special Projects. The branch is responsible for the following inspection activities and/or programs:
- Investigating Complaints of Fire Code Violations
- Fire Prevention Code Permit (FPCP) Inspections (Excluding Explosives)
- Occupancy Inspections
- State License Fire Inspections
- Home Day Care Fire Inspections
- Combustible/Flammable Liquid Tank Abandonment & Installation Inspections
- Public Safety Plan Review & Inspections
- Permitting & Inspection of Public Pools
- Fireworks & Indoor Pyrotechnics
- All-Night Graduation Party & After-Prom Event Fire Safety (PDF)
- Carnivals, Circuses, Fairs, Festivals, & Outdoor Public Assemblages (PDF)
