The Public Facilities Manual (PFM) sets forth the guidelines which govern the design of all public facilities which must be constructed to serve new development. In adopting its Subdivision Ordinance in 1975, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors incorporated specific reference to the requirements described in the PFM. Similarly in 1978, the Board adopted a Zoning Ordinance which made specific reference to the requirements in this Public Facilities Manual.
The PFM is being provided on the County Web site as a convenience and is not an official copy. An official copy may be purchased from: Maps and Publications Center, Suite 156, 12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax, Va., 22035, 703-324-2974, TTY 711. Amendments to the manual are also available in hard copy.
