January Assignment

  1. READ over the list of the Board of Supervisors. Email any other students who are in your district and will be meeting with the same Board member. Discuss possible dates and times & arrive at three possible dates/times that will work for all of you. Check these dates and times with your teacher sponsor. There must be at least one teacher/sponsor who will accompany you on your interview. Bring in your planners and the possible dates to the next meeting where we will discuss further.

  2. Prepare approximately 10 questions to be addressed to your Supervisor. These should include local concerns and issues and they should address budgetary matters. Please submit the questions to your teacher sponsor and ask them to approve the questions well in advance of the scheduled interview. Bring your questions to the next meeting.

  3. Email the four students whose names appear below yours. Introduce yourself, chat some about your high schools and bring 3 interesting pieces of information about each to the next meeting for us to share. If you would prefer to do this by phone, feel free to do so.

  4. Bring any questions you have about this program to the meeting in February.

  5. Consider the list of possible internships. Highlight the ones that most interest you and which would be most convenient in terms of location, etc. We will be doing the formal requests for placement in February/March but it is important to give this some thought in advance.
