FCRHA Annual Plan Revisions Available for Public Comment
Updates Proposed for HUD-Mandated Plan Governing Public Housing, Housing Choice Voucher Programs
The Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority (FCRHA) has released for public comment the proposed revisions to the Annual Plan for Public Housing and Housing Choice Voucher for Fiscal Year 2009 (FCRHA Fiscal Year 2010) mandated by the Federal Quality Housing and Work Responsibility Act of 1998. Through this updated plan, the FCRHA will advise the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), residents of FCRHA-owned housing, and the public of the FCRHA’s mission to serve the needs of low-income and very low-income families for Housing Choice Voucher and Public Housing assistance, and the FCRHA’s strategy to address those needs.
The Five Year Plan and Annual Plan for Public Housing and Housing Choice Voucher Program provides details about the FCRHA’s immediate operations, program participants, and programs and services for the upcoming fiscal year. The Plan requires the FCRHA to examine its existing operations and needs and to design long-range and short-range strategies to address those needs.
For this year, HUD has issued a new Plan template which requires housing authorities to report only substantive changes from their previously approved Annual Plan. In the case of the FCRHA, the most recently approved Plan was for federal Fiscal Year 2008 (FCRHA Fiscal Year 2009).
The proposed revisions to the Plan are available for public review and comment during the period November 3, 2008, to December 17, 2008. All public comments must be postmarked before midnight, December 17, 2008, and submitted to: FCRHA, 3700 Pender Drive, Suite 300, Fairfax, VA 22030, Attn: Vincent Rogers. The FCRHA will also conduct a public hearing at its January 22, 2009 meeting. (The FCRHA meeting will be held at 4500 University Plaza, Fairfax, VA at 7:00 pm.)
