Sisterhood Partnership


A sisterhood partnership is a cooperative relationship where knowledge is shared in various fields including educational initiatives, environmental initiatives and initiatives in the areas of culture, arts and sports.

2009

  • Fairfax County executed a sisterhood partnership with Songpa-Gu, Korea. Chairman Bulova visited Korea in September. 

1994

  • Fairfax County exchanged visitations with a sister county in the People’s Republic of China – Jiading District in Shanghai.

  • Herndon was listed as a sister city of Runnymede, England in the directory published by Sister Cities International.

1992

  • Braddock District, Fairfax County sistered with The Western District of Moscow .

1989

  • Essonne, France partnered with us as a sister in celebrating Gunston Hall and the anniversary of both France and the US declaring Bills of Rights.

1985

  • Reston became a sister city with Nyeri, Kenya.
