Sisterhood Partnership
A sisterhood partnership is a cooperative relationship where knowledge is shared in various fields including educational initiatives, environmental initiatives and initiatives in the areas of culture, arts and sports.
2012

Fairfax County executed a sisterhood partnership with the city of Kecioren, Turkey. The agreement was signed
on May 10, 2012 in Ankara,
Turkey. A signing ceremony was conducted at the Sept. 25, 2012
meeting of the Board of Supervisors.
2010

Fairfax County executed a sisterhood partnership with the city of Harbin, China. The agreement was signed
in Fairfax County on
March 9, 2009 and in Harbin, China on June 15, 2010.
2009
- Fairfax County executed a sisterhood partnership with Songpa-Gu, Korea. Chairman Bulova visited Korea in September.
1994

Fairfax County exchanged visitations with a sister county in the
People’s Republic of China – Jiading District in Shanghai.
- Herndon was listed as a sister city of Runnymede, England in the directory published by Sister Cities International.
1992
- Braddock District, Fairfax County sistered with The Western District of Moscow .
1989
- Essonne, France partnered with us as a sister in celebrating Gunston Hall and the anniversary of both France and the US declaring Bills of Rights.
1985
- Reston became a sister city with Nyeri, Kenya.
