The Office of Public Affairs coordinates presentations and recognitions by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors at its regular meetings; these are typically listed here the day prior to the meeting, with photos and video available following the meeting.

Police Week and Peace Officers’ Memorial Day
The Board of Supervisors will designate May 12-18 as Police Week and May 15 as Peace Officers’ Memorial Day in Fairfax County.

Child Care Professionals Week
The Board of Supervisors will designate May 5-11 as Child Care Professionals Week in Fairfax County.

Older Americans Month
The Board of Supervisors will designate May as Older Americans Month in Fairfax County.

Teacher Appreciation Week
The Board of Supervisors will designate May 6-10 as Teacher Appreciation Week in Fairfax County.

Parents Who Host Lose the Most Month
The Board of Supervisors will designate May as Parents Who Host Lose the Most Month in Fairfax County.

Foster Care and Foster Family Recognition Month
The Board of Supervisors will designate May as Foster Care and Foster Family Recognition Month in Fairfax County.

Lyme Disease Awareness Month
The Board of Supervisors will designate May as Lyme Disease Awareness Month in Fairfax County.

Nurses Week
The Board of Supervisors will designate May 6-12 as Nurses Week in Fairfax County.

Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month
The Board of Supervisors will designate May as Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month in Fairfax County.

Building Safety Month
The Board of Supervisors will designate May as Building Safety Month in Fairfax County and present this year’s Building Safety Community Partnership Award.
