United Way of the National Capital Area
The United Way of the National Capital Area presented a check to the
Fairfax County Board of Supervisors representing the amount that was
contributed through the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Impact Fund in
2012.
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department Support for Breast
Cancer
Representatives of the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department
presented a check to the American Cancer Society for funds raised to
support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Fill the Boot Campaign
The Board of Supervisors recognized International Association of
Firefighters Local 2068 for its successful Labor Day 2012 Fill the
Boot Campaign.
Gail Kinsey
The Board of Supervisors recognized Gail Kinsey, principal of
Fairfax Villa Elementary School in Fairfax for being named Virginia’s
2012 National Distinguished Principal by the National Association of
Elementary School Principals.
Janet Coldsmith
The Board of Supervisors recognized Janet Coldsmith for nearly 35
years of service to Fairfax County.
Stalking Awareness Month
The Board of Supervisors designated January as Stalking Awareness
Month in Fairfax County.
Mentoring Month
The Board of Supervisors designated January as Mentoring Month in Fairfax County.
Earned Income Tax Credit Awareness Day
The Board of Supervisors designated January 25 as Earned Income Tax
Credit Awareness Day in Fairfax County.
