Presentations to Residents

Presentation of the Colors by the Army Color Guard  The U.S. Army Continental Color Guard and an element from the Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps will present and retire the Colors at the beginning of the Board of Supervisors meeting.

Army Week in Fairfax County  The Board of Supervisors will designate June 13-21 as Army Week in Fairfax County.

Col. Gregory D. Gadson  The Board of Supervisors will recognize Col. Gregory D. Gadson, commander, U.S. Army Garrison, Fort Belvoir, for his contributions to Fairfax County.

Donald N. Carr  The Board of Supervisors will recognize Donald N. Carr, director of the U.S. Army Office of Public Affairs, Fort Belvoir, for his years of service.

Melissa Porfirio  The Board of Supervisors will recognize Melissa Porfirio, Crestwood Elementary School, Springfield, for being named a finalist for the national Teacher of the Year award.

Ed Clark  The Board of Supervisors will recognize Ed Clark for his assistance on land use applications, Park Authority plans and transportation issues affecting western Fairfax County when he was the superintendent of Manassas National Battlefield.

Polar Plunge Benefits Virginia Special Olympics  The Board of Supervisors will recognize Lee District RECenter employees and their mascot, Sirius Black, who took a “polar plunge” to raise funds for the Virginia Special Olympics.

Bailey’s Crossroads Community Shelter 20th Anniversary  The Board of Supervisors will recognize Volunteers of America Chesapeake for Bailey’s Crossroads Community Shelter 20th anniversary.

Mount Vernon-Lee Chamber of Commerce 60th Anniversary  The Board of Supervisors will recognize the Mount Vernon-Lee Chamber of Commerce for its 60th anniversary.
