Joseph Willard Health Center in Fairfax City Closed Due to Power Outage

The Fairfax County Health Department’s Joseph Willard Health Center (JWHC), located at 3750 Old Lee Highway, in Fairfax City, was closed today due to a power outage involving the building’s main electrical panel. The JWHC also will be closed Tuesday, May 8.

It is unknown at this time when the facility will reopen.

The Health Department has contacted clients with scheduled appointments and continues to contact individuals expecting laboratory results.

The clinic services affected include (walk-ins and appointments):

• Vital Records (death certificates) – temporarily relocated next door at the John C. Wood Complex - Old Lee Highway, Fairfax Va 22030.
• Walk-in clinic services (immunizations, TB, HIV and pregnancy testing; held Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Wednesdays, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.)
• STD walk-in clinics (held Tuesdays, 10 -11:30 a.m., and Wednesdays, 5 - 6:30 p.m.)
• Women, Infants and Children programs
• Immunizations
• International Travel
• Tuberculosis services
• Speech and Hearing
• Children's dental services
• Pharmacy

The phone system at JWHC also has been affected. Therefore, a call-center phone line has been established at 703-267-3511, TTY 703-591-6435, open today until 5 p.m.; open Tuesday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and open Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Callers may leave a message after hours, and a Health Department staff person will return the call.

Signs are posted on the doors of the JWHC that instruct walk-in visitors to call the call center phone number or to visit the Health Department Web site.
