The CDC's Know More Hepatitis campaign aims to increase awareness about this hidden epidemic and encourages people who may be chronically infected with Hepatitis C to get tested.

"Hepatitis" means inflammation of the liver and also refers to a group of viral infections that affect the liver. The most common types are Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C.  Viral hepatitis is a silent epidemic in the United States and more than 3 million Americans are living with chronic hepatitis C. Every year, thousands of Americans die from liver cancer or chronic liver disease associated with viral hepatitis.
