The fourth annual Fairfax County Housing Symposium once again brought together elected leaders, industry professionals, policy experts, and housing advocates with the primary goal of advancing the role of affordable housing within the fabric of our community. This year’s theme – Innovate to Accelerate –explored collaboration and regional approaches to increasing affordable housing; accelerating equity and opportunity for homeowners; and leveraging resources to create affordable housing in challenging markets.

Public-private partnerships are a valuable tool to reduce barriers to affordable housing development, particularly in high-cost areas. This session will highlight public-private partnerships that have successfully transformed Fairfax County neighborhoods and increased the number of affordable housing options.

This session will focus on how communities can modify and advance homeownership practices to create equity and opportunity for all residents.
