Public Health Nutritionist

Description:  Assesses and evaluates nutritional needs of clients.Develops, modifies, and presents normal and therapeutic diets to clients. Establishes food packages for clients. Certifies and recertifies the nutritional medical status and program service eligibility of clients, families, and groups. Provides nutritional counseling to clients. Plans and conducts nutritional training to meet client needs. Prepares monthly reports on nutrition program activities and issues.

Preferred Qualification:  Graduate course work in public health/nutrition.    

Minimum Qualifications:  Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics or a related field.

Certifications and Licenses Required:  Registration as a Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the credentialing agency for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, within one year of appointment.

Special Requirements: The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, an Office of the Inspector General (OIG) check and a check of the Child Protective Services Registry to the satisfaction of the employer.             

Schedule: This position may not exceed 1,560 hours per calendar year, and is contingent on renewal of grant funding beyond 9/30/2016. Licensed Practical Nurse

Provides support to MD’s and NP’s as needed.  Preforms vital sign checks, fills out lab requisitions, gives injections, and orders clinic supplies.  Charts PHI in EHR.  Responsible for maintenance of the clinic which includes but is not limited to: checking for expired medications, taking temperatures in medroom , insuring availability of medications, and keeping the environment conducive to client care.

Preferred Qualifications: Able to speak a second language and experience with giving depot psychotropic injections and IM injections.

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing School plus two years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Behavioral Health Nurse Case Manager (Relief Nurse)

Exciting opportunity to work with multidisciplinary team at the Fairfax Detoxification Center, in a community-based residential setting. Staff is being enhanced and expanded to provide integrated services, addressing substance use and mental health disorders as well as co-occurring primary care needs. Programming includes medical and clinically managed detoxification, acupuncture, and case management and referral services. The nursing staff is responsible for clinical, medical and primary care issues.

Minimum Qualifications: Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in nursing; plus two years of post-licensure experience as a nurse, in the specialty area of psychiatric mental health nursing, substance use disorders, intellectual disabilities, or relevant clinical specialty.

Seeking Licensed Clinical Psychologist to conduct independent evaluations of adults and minors who have been involuntarily hospitalized under a court-issued Temporary Detention Order.  Duties include conducting comprehensive clinical evaluations, completing written reports, serving as an expert to the General District and Circuit Courts, and providing testimony at commitment and appeal hearings. Variable work schedule but must be able to work some evening, weekend, and holiday hours. Training on relevant Virginia statutes and the role of the Independent Evaluator is provided.  Psychologist in private practice may be interested in adding these tasks to their existing practice.

Special Requirements: Possession of a current license to practice as a Clinical Psychologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Intellectual Disability Specialist I (Part-Time)

Two part-time IDS-I positions. Each position will work approximately 16.0 hours per week providing support coordination services to individuals with an intellectual disability who have Medicaid.   The duties will include providing ongoing support coordination services through monthly collateral contacts and face-to-face visits either every 90 days or every 30 days if the individual qualifies for the Enhanced Case Management.  Completes assessments, leads interdisciplinary team in developing Person-Centered Plan with the individual, links to needed services/supports, monitors delivery and quality of services according to the plan, is aware of person's interests and goals, acts as a resource to the individual and his/her family, meets with individual in the community, where services are provided, manages emergencies, and collaborates with vendors to ensure that health and safety needs are met. Work  must comply with all Medicaid requirements, time-lines and documentation.  Work requires the ability to enter information into an electronic healthcare record system. Case load size is about 8-10 persons.

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in a human services field, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:  At least two years of experience working with persons who have intellectual disabilities, understanding of Medicaid and Medicaid Waivers, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Qualified Mental Retardation Case Manager (QMRCM).
