The George Washington RECenter at 8426 Old Mount Vernon Road in Alexandria, Virginia is seeking volunteers for a variety of positions. Volunteers enjoy promoting the benefits of regular physical activity, learning new skills, making friends and serving their community. The volunteer program gives people the opportunity to provide assistance with fitness equipment orientations, work at the front desk, lead classes, clean the RECenter and help with administrative duties and other tasks. Fairfax County Public Schools/Adult and Community Education (ACE): Volunteers needed for the Volunteer Learning Program. Our volunteer tutors work with adults and court-involved juveniles to help them obtain a G.E.D./high school diploma, or acquire basic reading, writing or math skills.
