Volunteer Opportunities

Check out the opportunities at Volunteer Solutions. Volunteer Solutions is a partnership program of Fairfax County’s Department of Family Services, Health Department, and Neighborhood and Community Services, and provides meaningful volunteer opportunities to improve the lives of older adults and adults with disabilities in Fairfax County.

The George Washington RECenter at 8426 Old Mount Vernon Road in Alexandria, Virginia is seeking volunteers for a variety of positions. Volunteers enjoy promoting the benefits of regular physical activity, learning new skills, making friends and serving their community. The volunteer program gives people the opportunity to provide assistance with fitness equipment orientations, work at the front desk, lead classes, clean the RECenter and help with administrative duties and other tasks. Click here to learn more about the current volunteer opportunities.

Fairfax County Public Schools/Adult and Community Education (ACE)
Volunteers needed for the Volunteer Learning Program. Our volunteer tutors work with adults and court-involved juveniles to help them obtain a G.E.D./high school diploma, or acquire basic reading, writing or math skills. To learn more, contact Lori at 703-246-2140.

Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board (CSB) – The CSB offers volunteer and student training opportunities that can make a world of difference to people in our community. The CSB provides vital services for people of all ages with mental illness, substance use disorders, intellectual disabilities, and for young children with developmental delays. We also offer outreach and training to increase public knowledge and awareness. Learn more about the CSB’s Valued Interns, Volunteers and Advocates (VIVA) program.
