Save Your AIMS Resume as a Document for Future Use

Saving your AIMS resume electronically as a separate document is highly recommended, because the text can then be 'cut and pasted' into any online hiring system—including the new system that will be launched by Fairfax County in the near future. Follow these easy steps:  

1. Log in to your AIMS account.

2. From the Main Menu, select My Resume.

3. At the bottom of the page, click on View Final Resume. Your resume will appear.

4. On the upper right side of the page, click on Printer Friendly.

   A new window opens with a page that shows only your resume text.

5. Press the [CTRL] key and the [A] key together ([CTRL]+[A]). This selects all the text of your resume. It should all be highlighted now, as shown below:

6. Now press the [CTRL] key and the [C] key together ([CTRL]+[C]). This copies the text to temporary memory.
7. Either minimize the AIMS window or log out of AIMS and close that window.

8. Open the word processing program of your choice. You can use Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, etc., or the Notepad text editor on your PC.

9. Place your cursor in a blank document window and then press the [CTRL] key and the [V] key together ([CTRL]+[V]). This “pastes” your resume text into the blank document.

10. Name the file as desired and save the file for future use. You're done!
