The Human Rights Commission receives and investigates complaints filed by any person who believes they have been discriminated against in Fairfax County on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, marital status, age, familial status, or disability in the areas of:
- Learn how Retaliation is related to the areas of discrimination listed above.
The Commission also provides educational services Fairfax County on compliance with the various civil rights laws (What an Employer Should Know).
The Commission serves as a resource for those who provide
employment, housing, public accommodations, education or credit
facilities by having the staff
available to help them understand their responsibilities under the
Fairfax County Human Rights Ordinance and what to do if a complaint is
filed against them.
The staff offers seminars and workshops on fair employment and fair
housing.
