Human Services Council 25th Anniversary

Resolution Presented at the Oct. 8, Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Meeting

WHEREAS, the Fairfax County Human Services Council was created by the Board of Supervisors on June 6, 1988, to advance the interests of the Board as recommended by the Fairfax County Goals Advisory Commission in 1987; and

WHEREAS, Council members, past and present, have worked to advance the county’s goals for the human services system and faithfully served the Board of Supervisors by providing information, advice and guidance on funding requirements and issues of critical importance; and

WHEREAS, the Council throughout the years has served as a sounding board for the community in addressing how local government should best meet the needs of county residents and those served by the human services system; and

WHEREAS, nearly 100 individuals have served on the Council with integrity and in the true interests of the citizens in Fairfax County for the past 25 years; NOW THEREFORE

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, on behalf of all residents of Fairfax County, does hereby congratulate and thank past and current members of the Fairfax County Human Services Council for their civic engagement and long-standing contributions to the community in recognition of its 25th anniversary year.
