Development Authority. The Fairfax County department of Housing and
Community Development has been awarded a total of $38.3 million which to date
which has provided low interest mortgages to 196 households since

Consolidated Plan Activities, authorized allocation from The Penny
for Affordable Housing Fund, and Approved to Expand Scope of Eligible
Activities Within Existing Funding for the Woodley Hills Community Center
Project. This includes additional acquisition costs for 13 units at
ParcReston that are proposed to be purchased at a total price of
$2,830,000.00, which is $1,883,000 less than the market price for the
units. It is also includes re-designating $126,150 for Cedar Ridge
affordable housing relocation costs which were not needed for re-locating
families.

a Public Hearing on the Fiscal Year 2008 Effective Tax Rate
increases. The only tax rate which increases is the Refuse
Collection Services assessment from $315 per household unit to $330 per
household unit. The Real Estate Tax rate remains at 89 cents per $100 of
assessed value. Small District #5
(Reston
Community Center) tax rate remains at $0.047/$100 assessed
value.
- Approved
amendments to the Sewer Ordinance to revise the sewer
service charges and the availability feesto
be consistent with the Wastewater Management Program's revised five-year
financial forecast (the Rate Study) for the Sewer System. The proposed
Sewer Service rate change schedule is for FY 2007 through FY 2011. The
average homeowner increase is approximately
$18.24 over

- Began
the first of three nights of Public Hearings on the Fiscal Year 2008
Advertised Budget. Regarding the Tuesday and Wednesday evening Public Hearings, online

completed by 10 a.m. on the day of the Public Hearing to ensure your place on
the speakers list.

of your testimony at the Public Hearing.
Announcements:
Fairfax County Police conducted "Operation Safe Crossing" from March 19 to March 30
to promote pedestrian safety of children as they walk to and from school. During
the campaign, officers issued over 180 summonses and 18 warnings over a two week period
for speeding,
disregarding a highway sign, and no seat belts.
