The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has proposed widening Route 7 to
six lanes between Rolling Holly Drive (just west of the Georgetown Pike/Route 7
intersection) and the Dulles Toll Road. VDOT held the first public meeting
Nov. 27, 2001. The VDOT Project number is 0007-029-128, PE101 and PE102.
The project is divided into two segments. The section of Route 7 between Rolling
Holly Drive and Reston Parkway is anticipated to go to construction first, with construction planned to begin in late 2003. The remaining segment, between Reston Parkway and Tyco Rd., just east of the Dulles Toll Road, is funded for design and land acquisition. That segment does not currently have funds identified for construction.
Survey operations will be conducted in the vicinity of the project. The collection of this survey data does not necessarily indicate that the roadway improvements will impact that property. It merely indicates the property is located in the vicinity of the proposed improvements. Questions can be directed to:
