Michael DiConti BIO - ITPAC
Mike DiConti is Chief Operating Officer for the Bipartisan Policy Center in Washington, D.C., where he has worked since 2006. From 1990 to 2005, Mr. DiConti was Director of Operations and Legislation for the Business Roundtable in Washington, D.C., where he led the financial and operations functions and engaged in legislative advocacy at the federal and state levels on various public policy issues, including internet taxation. He received a Ph.D. in political science from The Johns Hopkins University in 1990 and was supported in his dissertation with an appointment as Fellow with the Institute for the Study of World Politics, in Washington, D.C. Mike received an M.B.A. in finance/accounting from UCLA's Anderson School of Management in 1983 and subsequently joined Arthur Young & Company (today Ernst & Young, LLC) in Los Angeles as a tax advisor, where he worked through 1985. In 1980, Mike was graduated magna cum laude with an A.B. in Psychology from Occidental College in Los Angeles. He is author of the book, Entrepreneurship in Training (University of South Carolina Press: 1992), which examined through field research the role of Control Data Corporation as an incubator for indigenous entrepreneurship in Canada and Mexico. Mike has served on Fairfax County’s Information Technology Policy Advisory Committee since 2004. He has three sons, Nolan, Aidan and Jason.
