Jeffrey C. McKay
Supervisor, Lee District
Jeffrey C. McKay was elected Lee District Supervisor in November 2007. As Supervisor, he governs a district of more than 100,000 residents in a county of over one million residents.
Supervisor McKay is a lifelong resident of Lee District, born and reared on the Route One corridor. He has a long history of local civic involvement.
Before his successful race for the Lee District seat, Supervisor McKay was chief of staff for former Lee District Supervisor Dana Kauffman. He held that position from 1996 through 2007.
Supervisor McKay is a sworn Reserve Deputy Sheriff for Fairfax County, a member of the Southeast Health Planning Task Force (the task force that kept Mount Vernon Hospital from closing), and a former board member of United Communities Ministries (UCM) and the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Committee on Reapportionment.
Supervisor McKay earned a B.A. in Public Administration from James Madison University and is a graduate of the Sorenson Institute of Political Leadership at the University of Virginia.
He lives in the Groveton section of Lee District and is an active member of the Groveton Civic Association, the oldest civic association in Fairfax County. Supervisor McKay, his wife Crystal, and daughter Leann Madison live in the house originally built by his grandparents in the 1950s and since renovated. Miss Vera, a retired racing greyhound, is also part of their family.
