Message from Supervisor McKay
Dear Lee District Neighbor:
Summer is a great time to be in Lee District and especially to enjoy the outdoors. We’ve got walking and biking trails, wonderful parks, community events like Springfield Days and the Springfield Community BridgeWalk, and free music at the Lee District Park amphitheater every Wednesday evening from June through the end of August. You can find local fruits and vegetables at the Kingstowne Farmers Market every Friday afternoon and enjoy the first fully accessible family recreation area at Lee District Park. And on a rainy day, why not refresh your knowledge of local history at the Franconia Museum.
The past 12 months have been busy with projects and events that affect our district, County, and region. On April 26, the County’s Board of Supervisors voted on two issues with a direct impact on every County resident—the fiscal 2012 budget that goes into effect on July 1 and redistricting.
