Regional Transportation Issues
Supervisor Jeffrey C. McKay commented on our transportation crisis:
If ever there was an example of why ‘one size fits all’ is bad for Virginia, just look at our transportation infrastructure. While transportation funding is a problem statewide, it’s reached crisis levels in the urban crescent that includes 68 percent of the population and generates 79 percent of the state’s gross product.
I was proud to be asked by the chairman of our Board of Supervisors, Sharon Bulova, to join her in getting this bipartisan organization started. This is a powerful call to action on the part of elected officials from every political stripe and the attached letter with its sobering statistics illustrates the extent of the crisis.
