The Martha Washington Library will close at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, December 20 for renovation. The library will open in temporary quarters in mid-February 2009. Renovations to the branch are expected to take a minimum of 18 months. The temporary site for the library will be 6328 Richmond Highway, Unit F, Alexandria, VA 22303.

Martha Washington, one of the oldest branches in the library system, has been in its present location since 1969 and houses a collection of more than 81,000 items. Our collection has a wonderful assortment of fiction, mysteries, children's materials and a great reference section.

Our branch is conveniently located next to the Mount Vernon Recreation Center in the Belle View Community, with easy access to I-495, Route 1, and the George Washington Parkway.
