Michael Scheuer is a veteran CIA counterterrorism analyst. He was assigned to create a bin Laden desk at the CIA in 1996. Scheuer also wrote the best-seller Imperial Hubris and Through our Enemies’ Eyes: Osama bin Laden, Radical Islam and the Future of America. The author contends that the U.S. is still unsafe from terrorists. Scheuer has said of bin Laden “his genius lies in his ability to isolate a few American policies that are widely hated across the Muslim world. And that growing hatred is going to yield
growing violence.” Scheuer was interviewed on the TV news program “60
Minutes” after the publication of Imperial Hubris.
