Fairfax County Public Library invites people with vision disabilities,
caregivers, friends, family and other interested
parties to VisionQuest 2008 Monday, May
12, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. VisionQuest 2008 will offer people
the chance to see and try out the latest technologies
and services to help individuals cope with vision
disabilities. VisionQuest 2008 will be held
at Hollin Hall Senior Center, 1500 Shenandoah

This free event is cosponsored by the library’s Access
Services branch which makes library services accessible to people with disabilities, Hollin Hall Senior Center and Prevention of Blindness Society of Metropolitan Washington.
VisionQuest 2008 will feature assistive equipment demonstrations, free glaucoma testing and light refreshments. Specialty technology exhibits will include two of the newest developments including the VictorReader Stream portable DAISY player, approved for use with the National Library Service, Library of Congress (NLS) digital talking books, and the knfbReader, the first cell phone designed to read to individuals with vision impairments, dyslexia or learning disabilities.
