Centreville Regional Library
Put your green thumb to good use! A motivated person who can offer suggestions on how to improve the landscaping is needed to start and run a team of gardening volunteers. Work hours are flexible.

Help others improve their English! Do one-on-one tutoring or co-lead conversation groups for people who want to practice and improve their English skills. The greatest need is for evening and weekend sessions. Prior teaching experience is not required, just a good command of the English language, as well as an out-going, friendly and patient manner.

Kings Park Library
This position has been filled!
Work with an experienced person to co-chair the semi-annual Kings Park Friends of the Library Book Sale using existing guidelines and procedures. Major responsibilities include assisting with advertising and publicity, recruiting volunteers, scheduling volunteers and working during the sale. The book sale is held in May and October. The week prior to the sale and the week of the sale, the co-chair will work approximately 20-30 hours. The rest of the year, the co-chair will work as needed (an average of an hour per week). The funds from these popular book sales help supplement the needs of the library branch.

Kingstowne Library
Discover how a library operates! Become part of a team of library volunteers working behind the scenes checking in books and locating books on the shelves for customers.  Preferred commitment is two hours per week. Afternoon shifts are available Mondays and Wednesdays and morning shifts are available Wednesdays and Fridays.

For more information about these volunteer opportunities, contact the library branch directly or contact the library’s volunteer coordinator at 703-324-8332.
