If you will be out of town or unable to retrieve a hold when it becomes available, you may ask library staff to suspend the hold for any predetermined period of time. While the hold is suspended you will keep your place in the queue for a title yet allow others in the queue behind you to receive their copies.

Once the hold is unsuspended, and depending upon your current position in the queue, the next available item will fill your hold.
