Suspending and Unsuspending a Hold
You may suspend your hold request for an item. While your request is suspended, you will keep your place in the queue for the item and allow others behind you in the queue to receive their request for the item.
You may unsuspend your hold request when you are ready for the item. Depending upon your position in the queue at that time, an available item will fill your hold request.
Overdrive does not have a suspend/unsuspend option.
To suspend a hold
- Login to the catalog by entering your library card number and password.
- Select "My Account" in the top banner.
- Select "Review My Account."
- Select the "Holds" tab.
- Check the box next to each "outstanding hold" you wish to suspend (available holds may not be suspended online, please contact library staff).
- Select the "Suspend Selected" radio button and modify the start and end dates to your needs (if the end date is NEVER the hold will remain suspended indefinitely).
- Select the "Suspend Selected" button near the bottom of the screen.
To unsuspend a hold
- Login to the catalog by entering your library card number and password.
- Select "My Account" in the top banner.
- Select "Review My Account."
- Select the "Holds" tab.
- Check the box next to each "outstanding hold" you wish to unsuspend.
- Select the "Unsuspend Selected" radio button.
- Select the "Unsuspend Selected" button near the bottom of the screen.
Access to your account is not available from 11:30 pm - Midnight daily.
