Austin Camacho.Austin Camacho was interviewed for BookCast by Fairfax County Public Library Director Sam Clay. BookCast is sponsored by Virginia Commerce Bank through the Fairfax Library Foundation.

  • Camacho is the author of four detective novels in the Hannibal Jones series —Blood and Bone, Collateral Damage, The Troubleshooter and Damaged Goods, plus two action adventure novels, The Payback Assignment and The Orion Assignment.


  • His day job is with the Defense Department as a public affairs specialist. Camacho is past president of the Maryland Writers Association and teaches writing courses at Anne Arundel Community College. Camacho appeared at the recent Virginia Festival of the Book and has a bi-weekly podcast.


  • His favorite authors include Elmore Leonard, Bill Pronzini and James Ellroy.
