Patrick Creed and Rick Newman are the authors of Firefight: Inside the Battle to Save the Pentagon on 9/11, a detailed account of the firefighters, emergency personnel and others who responded on September 11 to the airline crash at the Pentagon.
- Creed is an amateur historian with a history degree from James Madison University, as well as a volunteer firefighter and U.S. Army Reserve Officer. He recently returned from a tour in Iraq as a civil affairs officer. Creed lives in Pennsylvania where he volunteers with two firefighting companies.
Newman is an award-winning journalist and staff writer for U.S. News and World Report. He has also written for The Washington Post and many other publications. He is the co-author of Bury Us Upside Down: The Misty Pilots and the Secret Battle for the Ho Chi Minh Trail. Newman lives in New York.
