Bill Farrell. Bill Farrell was interviewed for BookCast by Fairfax County Public Library Director Sam Clay. BookCast is sponsored by Virginia Commerce Bank through the Fairfax Library Foundation.

  • Local resident Bill Farrell is the author of Walter’s Pond: The True Story of Three Brothers Who Went Fishing for Trouble, an early reader in verse.


  • Walter’s Pond is the first in a series of books based on true stories about a large family in rural Connecticut each with a lesson to be learned. Other planned titles include: My First Home Run, Ahhhhhh Stew, The Chocolate Easter Bunny Rabbit, and Dead Man’s Curve.


  • Farrell is the third of 11 children who grew up in the 1950s and 60s in rural Connecticut where he and his siblings enjoyed the outdoor life.


  • Farrell spent 30 years as an executive in information technology before retiring and becoming a writer. He lives in Vienna, Virginia with his wife, the youngest of his daughters and two Jack Russell Terriers.
