John Gilstrap.

  • John Gilstrap is the author of four thrillers, Scott Free, Even Steven, At All Costs and Nathan's Run. His most recent book, Six Minutes to Freedom, was written with Karl Muse, and is a non-fiction account of how Muse, a U.S. civilian, was rescued from prison in Noriega’s Panama by the U.S. Army’s Delta Force.


  • Gilstrap has sold film rights to Nathan’s Run and At All Costs and has written film scripts for Thomas Harris’ Red Dragon, Nelson DeMille’s Word of Honor and Norman Maclean’s Young Men and Fire.


  • Gilstrap lives in Fairfax County, Virginia and is a 1975 graduate of Robinson High School. He graduated from William and Mary College in Williamsburg, Virginia with a degree in history, but earned an M.A. in Safety Engineering after serving in the Burke Volunteer Fire Department.
