""Author Emyl Jenkins was interviewed for BookCast by Fairfax County Public Library Director Sam Clay. BookCast is sponsored by Virginia Commerce Bank through the Fairfax Library Foundation.

  • Emyl Jenkins is the author of two “tender mysteries” featuring antiques appraiser and sleuth Sterling Glass. Stealing with Style was published in 2005. The Big Steal was just released. Both are set in Virginia.

  • A former antiques appraiser, she wrote a syndicated column and is the author of such non-fiction books as Emyl Jenkins’ Reproduction Furniture and From Store Bought to Homemade: Secrets for Cooking Easy, Fabulous Food in Minutes.

  • In a recent interview, Jenkins said:  “My whole life I’ve been fascinated by how people express themselves through their furnishings . . . Along these lines, I’ve always loved books that used ‘things’ to explain something about a character. Of course the best-known such scene is Miss Haversham’s dining room still set for the wedding that never occurred.”
