Writer Tom Perrotta is the author of six comic novels, including Election, Little Children, Joe College and his most recent novel, The Leftovers, as well as a collection of short stories and numerous articles.
Two successful films have been based on his books: “Election” which starred Matthew Broderick and Reese Witherspoon and “Little Children” with Kate Winslet and Patrick Wilson. He was nominated for an Academy Award in 2007 as a cowriter (with Todd Field) for Best Adapted Screenplay for “Little Children.”
His most recent novel, The Leftovers was named a 2011 New York Times Notable Book and one of the Best Books of 2011 by The Washington Post and other publications such as Kirkus Reviews and O the Oprah Magazine.
