Ellen Posner. Ellen Posner was interviewed for BookCast by Fairfax County Public Library Director Sam Clay. BookCast is sponsored by Virginia Commerce Bank through the Fairfax Library Foundation.

  • Ellen Posner, who has been an attorney with the Fairfax County Attorney’s Office for the past 20 years, recently published her first book of poetry, What’s in a Feather?


  • Born and raised in New York State, she received her B.A. in political science and graduated with Phi Beta Kappa honors from Binghamton University. She received her law degree from the Albany Law School.


  • What’s in a Feather? consists of 40 poems, which she calls “rhymed prose” divided into seven sections: “I Have Often Wondered,” “The Dreams,” “Spirituality ‘of Sorts,’” “The Splendor of Nature,” “Relationships That Live, Die and Live Again,” “Coming of Age” and “Retrospective.”


  • Ellen, her husband Robert and two children have lived in Fairfax County since 1988.
