Emilie Richards was
interviewed for BookCast by Fairfax County Public Library Director
Sam Clay. BookCast is sponsored by Virginia Commerce Bank through the Fairfax Library Foundation.
- Emilie Richards lives in Arlington, VA and is the author of more
than 50 books, most of them romance and family dramas. She also has a newer Ministry is Murder
series with titles such as Let There Be Suspects (2006)
and Blessed Is The Busybody (2005),
based in part on her experience as the wife of a minister. Her most recent
romance, Lover's Knot, was
published in 2006.
- She began writing in 1983 after the birth of her fourth child and
named her first book, Brendan's Song, after
her son - often on her lap as she wrote.
- Richards has received a number of awards, including the RITA from the
Romance Writers of America. She has appeared on "Leeza" and "Hard Copy." "Hard Copy" once devoted
an entire segment to her and called her the next Danielle Steel.
- Besides Virginia, Richards and her family have lived in Florida,
Louisiana, California, Arkansas, Ohio and Pennsylvania. A four-month family sabbatical in
Australia turned into six books for the romance novel publisher, Silhouette, with Australian or
New Zealand settings.
