The Martha Washington Library is one of four branches to be renovated with library bond funds. The other three are Thomas Jefferson Library, Dolley Madison Library and Richard Byrd Library.

Opened in 1969, the Martha Washington Library is located at 6614 Fort Hunt Road in Alexandria. The renovation will include expansion from its current 10,630 square feet to approximately 18,000 square feet. Construction is expected to be complete in 2010.
