The Richard Byrd Library is one of the four branches to be renovated with library bond funds. The other three are Thomas Jefferson Library, Dolley Madison Library, and Martha Washington Library.
Opened in 1965, the Richard Byrd Library is located at 7250 Commerce Street. Its renovation will include expanding the branch from its current 10,000 square feet to approximately 18,200 square feet. Construction is expected to be complete in 2010.
