The Lorton Library, located at 9520 Richmond Highway, is the third library to serve the Lorton community. Previous locations included buildings in the Woodlawn and Williamsburg Shopping Centers. In preparation for the April 7, 1990 opening of the current building, a chain of volunteers passed the books, hand to hand, from the Williamsburg Square location into the new building.

Our collection of over 50,000 items focuses on early literacy and homework help for K-12th graders. We have eight Internet stations, three catalog/database computers, and wireless Internet access. Framed art from the nearby Workhouse Arts Center frequently decorates our library.
