LEE CHAPEL METHODIST CHURCH


7315 Lee Chapel Rd., Burke, Va.


This 24'x 40' white frame church was built in 1871 to replace Mt. Carmel Methodist Church, which stood about a mile to the south and burned during the Civil War. The first recorded burial took place in 1887 and the chapel burned in 1951. There are 40+ headstones and an undetermined number of unmarked burials. Note: The site is maintained by the Sydenstricker Methodist Church.
