Burke Family Cemetery

6204 Kersey Ct., Burke, Va.

The broken white marble headstones of SILAS and HANNAH BURKE, and an unknown number of unmarked burials, lay in a stand of trees in front of this residence. Burke was a prominent landowner and businessman, and the surrounding area now bears his name. The Silas Burke House (built c.1825) still stands 3/4 mile to the west of the cemetery (9623 Burke Lake Road.) The 1/2 acre cemetery was reserved by deed dated Mar. 1, 1910 (Db F7:303). The cemetery is overgrown and neglected.
