Collard/Darrell Family Cemetery

3212 Arundel Ave., Alexandria, Va.

The will of SAMUEL COLLARD (Wb W:281) reserved this 1/4 acre graveyard in 1847. The cemetery contains four headstones and an unknown number of unmarked burials. A 15' x 25' metal fence (installed 1989) surrounds the headstones. A locust tree and patches of English ivy and periwinkle are growing inside the fence. A bronze plaque identifying the cemetery is set on a concrete base just inside the gate. The cemetery is clean and well maintained.
