CARTERSVILLE BAPTIST CHURCH

1727 Hunter Mill Rd., Vienna, Va.

The first church, a one room frame structure, was built in 1863. It was replaced in 1951 by a cinder block building that was destroyed by a fire on March 18, 1972. Most of the church records were lost in the fire. The cemetery is located to the side and rear of the church. Most of the graves are marked by fieldstones and the parking lot may cover some of the older burials. Cornerstone: "CARTERSVILLE BAPTIST/CHURCH/FOUNDED 1863/BY REV. R. WOODSON/REBUILT 1951/REV. P. HIGGINS PASTOR/REV. S. COLEMAN ASST."
