SLAVE CEMETERY - MOUNT AIR

8600 Accotink Rd., Lorton, Va.

The slave cemetery was perportedly located on a slope about 150' east of the main house ruin, near the surviving slave cabins. A boxwood hedge tops the slope, separating the cemetery area from the gardens. Periwinkle and day lillies covered the area, obscuring any evidence of gravemarkers or depressions. NOTE: The Fairfax County Park Authority now owns the house ruins and grounds.
