SLAVE CEMETERY - BELVALE

5300 Glen Green Ct., Alexandria, Va.

"Belvale" was built by GEORGE JOHNSTON, c. 1763-1766, and remained in the Johnston Family until 1925. The 1970 HABS report on the house states "On the property there is a cemetery which may have been a slave burial ground." The house was on a 49 acre parcel in 1970, which has since been subdivided. The exact location of the cemetery is unrecorded.
