The original Woodrow Wilson Library opened in 1961 in the Culmore shopping center in Bailey’s Crossroads. The existing building opened in 1967 and was renovated in 1976. Currently Woodrow Wilson Library houses over 66,000 items and has 11 public internet computers as well as wireless internet access.
Woodrow Wilson Library serves as a multi-cultural community center, with special collections in Spanish and Vietnamese. Numerous community groups use the library's three meeting rooms to offer programs to the public. The children’s chess club is well known and active. The staff speak a variety of languages; computer tutoring is offered in Spanish, Vietnamese Arabic and English.
