The Center for the Book is affiliated
with the Virginia
Foundation for the Humanities and the Center
for the Book in the Library of Congress. Three projects
produced by the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities
include the Festival
for the Book, Letters
About Literature, and The
Big Read for which free downloadable resource
guides are available.
The activities of the Fairfax County Public Library's Center for the Book include forming partnerships with private and public
entities to advance books and reading through author and literary events, public and corporate workshops, expositions, discussion series, seminars, and other programs and events
related to books and reading.
The Center for the Book is supported in part by the Fairfax
Library Foundation, grants, donations, and gifts from individuals. Its activities are
supplemented by in-kind contributions and volunteers.
