Community Outreach
Fairfax County Public Library supports the community through special outreach services and events.
Some of our activities including offering early literacy support at daycare centers and in library branches; the alternative sentencing program Changing Lives Through Literature; offering special services, including the Talking Books program, books by mail and providing books to 30 senior living facilities, nursing homes and adult care centers throughout the county.
The library supports public engagement efforts through programs offered at library branches and via the Center for the Book. Special reoccurring programs include All Fairfax Reads, the Summer Reading Program and Book Discussion Groups. The library also funds special databases to support the Grants Research and Training Center and houses the Fairfax County’s Archives.
