Through EBSCOhost's databases, you can access abstracts and the complete texts of articles.

When you reach the log on page, enter your 14-digit library card number, with no spaces, in the Patron ID box.

Tips: After you log on to EBSCOhost, check the box by each database you want to include in your search.

 

Databases:

  • Business Source Elite — presents both local and global business news.


  • EBSCO Animals — contains in-depth information on a variety of topics relating to animals with descriptions of the nature and habitat of familiar animals.


  • Funk & Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia — offers short articles on a variety of subjects including short biographical profiles.


  • Kid's Search — is designed especially for youth in grades K-8.


  • Health Source: Consumer Edition — has articles, pamphlets and reference texts on health issues ranging from self-help to drugs and alcohol.


  • MasterFILE Premier — covers diverse topics including general information, business issues, health and multicultural materials. It includes an image collection with photos of people, natural science photos, photos of places, historical photos, maps, and flags.


  • Middle Search Plus — assists middle and junior high school students investigate current events.


  • Primary Search — has magazines on a broad list of subjects designed for the elementary school level.


  • Regional Business News - provides coverage for regional business journals, newspapers and newswires from all metropolitan and rural areas within the United States.


  • Searchasaurus is designed for elementary school aged children and allows them to search by keyword or topic. A dictionary, encyclopedia, and pictures are included.


  • The Serials Directory— provides bibliographic information and pricing for thousands of U.S. and international periodicals.


  • The William and Mary Quarterly— focuses on early American history and culture to 1820.
    Available only in the Virginia Room at the City of Fairfax Regional Library.
